WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE SNACK TO BUY AS A KID FROM THE CORNER STORE!

HOLSUM HONEY BUN AND A STRAWBERRY COLD DRINK!





As a kid I used to love going to the corner store before school.  I'd load up on candy and a soft drink.  While I was in Acres Home I saw a store that brought back those memories.  It's called Rose store.  It's located on W. Little York.  It had everything I used to buy before heading to McKinley Middle Magnet each day.  They had Now & Later candy, pickles, Slim Jims, and who could forget Kool Aid.  This story had every flavor under the rainbow.  The only thing I didn't see was my ultimate favorite after school and that's a Holsum honey bun and Faygo Strawberry soday.  Back in Louisiana I'd actually say Faygo strawberry 'cold drink'.  What were your favorite snacks to take to school and after school?

    My favorite snacks were and still are potato chips. The flavor varies from time to time, from bbq to ranch to sour cream & onion. [Just about anything except jalapeno!]. Looking back, I think my first love was bbq....

    Jolly Ranchers! I used to love them, and I think they were about 2 for a nickel! A whole box was also a good birthday present for a kid you didn't really know very well but the whole class got invited to his party - they were about a buck for the whole box.
