MAYOR ANNISE PARKER GETS $800,000 REBATE CHECK!
It's an early Christmas present officials with the city of Houston were glad to receive. A check for more than $800,000. It was a rebate from Siemens after the contractor was successful in saving the city of Houston nearly a million dollars in electric cost. The city has replaced many of its old incandescent bulbs in traffic signals with LED lights. Mayor Annise Parker, who was on hand for the presentation, said the city is expected to save millions more. Michael Marcotte, who heads the Public Works Department, tells the Insite the first check will go to payoff the money used to purchase the new energy saving and environmentally friendly lights. Also on hand for the big event were: Yolanda Slade, Robert McMillin, Michael Hadrick, and Chad Nobles!
