Another senseless tragedy has claimed the life of a young man in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Someone I've known since he was born. Dan Smith is the son of my good friend Net Spooner. Smith was found shot and killed in his vehicle on Osage street in north Baton Rouge early Saturday morning. Dan last spoke to his mother Friday night. Net says the next thing was a knock at her door several hours later and a cousin delivered the news her son was dead. Baton Rouge Police are investigating the case. Net says she's still awaiting an autopsy before she can make funeral arrangements. Dan was 23 years old and is survived by his mother, father, sister, and older brother. I send my deepest sympathies to the Smith / Spooner family in Baton Rouge!
