THE DEPUTY WHO FOUGHT GANGS GETS HIS OWN PARK!

A park in northwest Harris County has been named in honor of HCSO Deputy John Mook in recognition of his work in the once gang-infested community.

The Chimney Hills subdivision is hosting the park dedication on Tuesday at 7 p.m. during National Night Out.  
Deputy Mook worked in the Chimney Hills subdivision as a contract deputy for 15 years battling gangs in the area, among other things. His work led to a national, multi-agency investigation and the arrest of several known gang members . Last year Deputy Mook was transferred to the HCSO’s Gang Suppression Unit where he continues to combat criminal gang activity.
