THE BATTLE TO LEAD THE CIVIL RIGHTS ORGANIZATION!
The Insite hears there's a new leader at the Houston Branch of the NAACP. I'm told by those who attended the meeting that Pastor D.Z. Cofield is the newly elected President of the group. This is after a very aggressive campaign that left Carolyn Scantlebury unseated as the leader of the historical organization. The Insite also hears there was a record turnout for the election. I'm told in the last Presidential election about 27 people showed interest. This time I'm told 200+ people took part in the election. The Insite is waiting to hear from NAACP staff about all the details!
