HOUSTON POLICE OFFICERS AGREE TO GO WITHOUT A RAISE FOR TWO YEARS!

The Insite has learned there is now a tentative agreement between the city of Houston and the police union for a new labor contract.

We're told as part of the new deal Houston cops have agreed to go without a payraise for the first two years of the contract.

The agreement will be for the next five years.

However, officials with the Houston Police Officers' Union say they're hoping the city turns its attention to recruiting new police officers.

Those in the union say HPD could face a shortage of a thousand officers because of retirement and other factors.

The city stands to save $6 million annually because of the tentative contract.
