UPDATING THE FLEET IN LA MARQUE!

La Marque firefighters Ira Yardley, Matt Hathorn, and John Brasher in front of the $450,000 Pierce Pumer!
Some fire trucks in La Marque go back to the 1970's
By now the city council in La Marque has made a decision on a public safety issue.  City leaders are considering buying a new Pierce pumper rescue truck for the fire department.  The small station has just under 20 firefighters but a fleet that needs some updating.  There are reserve units in the department that go back as far as 1976.  City Manager Eric Gage says the current bid for the new Pierce pumper is a steal.  It's going for $450,000 which is way below market price for the demo vehicle.  It was used by the fire truck sales company to show its product to other departments.  The purchase will be left up to city council in La Marque to give the pumper trucker the thumbs up or down!
