Press Release: On Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Houston, Texas members of the Black Justice Tuesday's Coalition (National Black United Front, New Black Panther Party and others) held a protest at Houston's Reliant Stadium during the NCAA Final Four in 2011. The point of the protest was to highlight to world visitors to Houston the reality of what goes on in Houston regarding police terrorism and brutality.
During the two hour protest organizers engaged tournament fans from all over the country. The majority of response was positive and a good portion of people confirmed police brutality as a problem in there respective cities. Blowing horns and Black Power Fist bouyed the organizers.
Running for two months and counting the coalition holds protest at Houston City Hall 901 Bagby at 12 noon every Tuesday.
Organizers reached out to the NCAA for dialogue on the issue. There efforts were rejected.
