THE AIR CONDITIONING MAN HAS BEEN INDICTED AND CHARGED WITH A FELONY!

I really hate congratulating myself but this time I must.  I received a letter from a Harris County Deputy Sheriff thanking the Insite for catching a suspected thief in the act.  Investigators say the video we aired a few weeks ago showing a man who denied he was stealing an air conditioning unit in northeast Harris County is now part of a criminal probe.  That man has been charged with a felony for stealing that unit.  The deputy from the Sheriff's Department thanked me for catching it all on tape.  Here's the video of that guy again and the letter from the deputy!

The letter from the Harris County Sheriff's Office:

 Mr. Carey,

I am an Investigator with the Harris County Sheriff's Office - Burglary
& Theft Division and would like to speak with you for just a moment at
your convenience. Also, I would like to commend you on your interview
with the white male stealing the A/C unit at 7907 Cyrl Lane in late
October.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office accepted a charge of Felony
Theft (copper) in this case. This would most likely have not have been
possible without your interview and identification of the individual by
his Texas ID card. I have been a police officer for 24 years and this is
the first time I have received a case where the crook was interviewed by
a reporter during the commission of the crime.

Thanks for your assistance and I look forward to speaking with you
concerning this case.
