CAROL MIMS GALLOWAY PLANS HER NEXT PHASE OF LIFE AND IT DOESN'T INCLUDE ELECTED OFFICE!

After more than 50 years of  activism and public service Houstonian Carol Mims Galloway is calling it quits.  Galloway tells the Insite when her term as HISD Board Trustee ends in December she's quietly moving into retirement. The busy Houstonian has served in several elected positions including sitting on Houston's City Council for District B. Galloway's community involvement goes back as far as bus boycotts, Woolworth sit ins, and spearheading an effort to bring Dr. Martin Luther King to H-town.  Galloway says she wants to focus more on caring for her aging mother and family.  The very vocal school board member has a reception planned for close friends and family members this Thursday.  Btw, did you know there is an effort underway to try and get a local school named after the 5th Ward resident?  The Insite will keep you updated on Galloway!
