HOUSTON'S FORGOTTEN WASTELAND IN THE FIFTH WARD!

It was in the early 1900's when a small community in Houston's Fifth Ward was a point of pride.

Settled by Creoles from Louisiana in the Frenchtown was a very popular place.  But with time the area is really on the decline.

Walking through Frenchtown now is very sad.  There are falling houses, collapsing roof tops, illegal dumping and some residents say a lott of dope dealing.

The question I have is what will be done about it?  Who will clean up and try to save this once historic area that looks like it's ready for a bulldozer?
