WAS THIS A FISHY SITUATION AT THE CAR WASH????
Do you remember Susan Smith from several years back. The South Carolina woman claimed a black man kidnapped her children and she was the victim. We now know the truth to that story. She was convicted of taking the lives of her own children. Not nearly as extreme but an unidentified Houston mother could be faced with the same situation after sending dozens of HPD officers on a possible wild goose chase Sunday afternoon after reporting her 4 month old baby girl was taken during a car jacking. The 4-month-old was eventually found unharmed in a northwest Harris County home about three hours after her mother reported the child was taken near Sharpstown Mall. Houston police took the mother and four other people in for questioning late Sunday night to investigate discrepancies in the woman's account of the incident. The woman initially told officers that a Hispanic man with a knife had carjacked her outside an apartment. The woman also claimed to officers that she had three children with her at the time, and was able to free the two older ones before the man drove off with the third child strapped into a car seat. 14 minutes later, police pulled over the mother's car on Harwin. Two men were apprehended at a car wash following a brief chase. The child, however, was not in the car. For hours, media crews and bystanders blanketed the car wash area as officers questioned the men about the child's whereabouts. The girl's mother paced, dodging TV cameras.
But at about 7:30, after the The Insite watched the mother receive a phone call reporters were told the child had been found unharmed at the mother's home near Spirng, all while the suspects who allegedly drove off with that same child were still in police custody. How did the child get from Southwest Houston to North Harris County with the suspects all sitting in handcuffs? Is this fishy to you? And should this mother be charged if her story doesn't pan out?
UPDATE: The mother has been charged with filing a false report but HPD is not saying exactly why and what she allegedly did besides file the false report.
Ike I saw you covering this Sunday night and right off I smelled a rat. They should throw the book at that woman if she lied and wasted our tax dollars on a farse like that. Unacceptable.
ReplyDeletenot good at all...
ReplyDeleteI think she should be charged with filing a false report. Any idea why she did it?
ReplyDeleteNo idea why she did it and honestly the reasoning is inconsequential. She should have the book thrown at her anyway.
