READERS: WHY ARE THEY SETTING UP A FUND????

FUND DRIVE COMING UNDER TOUGH SCRUTINY!!!!!

This is one of those issues I've received so many comments on that I have to address it. Many are asking why does the family of Big Hawk, a successful Houston rapper, need a fund set up for public donations. I have been told by family reps that any funds The Hawkins family receives from the public will be put into a trust fund for his children. And when I explain that to many of you out there some still feel public donations in this particular case are unwarranted. Some have told me why don't members of the 'Screwed Up Click' aka Lil Flip, ZRO and Big Pokey give money to his family if they're in a tough financial bind. And some are asking if Big Hawk wore the bling and played the role why does his family need public donations. These are questions I don't have answers to at this point. All could be very valid points but they are questions for family members at the appropriate time. Many have said they expected the public plea for help in finding Hawks killer but piggy backing with this solicitation for public donations is inappropriate at best. I unfortunately don't have the answers to these questions. But I ask what are your feelings on this issue??? The Insite would like to hear from you!!!!

Wikipedia info: The original members of the S.U.C. consisted of Screw himself, Lil' Keke, Fat Pat, Hawk, Big Pokey, C-Note and Mike-D. Other members include Big Moe, Big Jut, ESG, Big Mello, Woss Ness (Big Steve, Big Bee, Lil' Head), Z-Ro, Trae, Lil' O, Dat Boy Grace, Will Lean, C-Ward, Head, Lil 3rd, Mr. 3-2, Clay Doe, Lil' Flip, Yungstar, D-Red, Al-D (Screw's brother), Wood, and others.

UPDATE: Members of The Hawkins family are expected to have a press conference Monday afternoon with activist Quanell X. Exactly what they're going to say is not clear at this point.

Can I set up a fund for my kids? Will ppl please donate to them so they can go to college, or do I have to die with no life insurance policy first?

Where is the little short asian guy who's sellin everybody grillz. He should donate 2% of each sell for the next week from the Ni--as who visit his store and Big Hawk's family would be set for life. That's if the TV jewelry egg roll guy will give up his green backs for the bros who put him on the map. Johnny where you at lil man.

Next time you see or talk to a rapper. Ask him/her a question for me. Why do they want to own

the SOUTH, EAST, or WEST COAST? why not just go back and own the neighborhood you grew

up in. Help kids get college scholarships. Check to see if the man/woman over 65 has health insurance.

And last but not least, why do they kill each other? JAZZ, R&B, COUNTRY and WESTERN SINGER
never want to kill each other.

JUST KEEPING IT REAL. ALL YOUR RAPPERS COME FROM THE HOOD.

WHY DON'T THEY BUY THE HOOD, AND DO IT OVER.

    WE WOULDN'T NEED GOVERNMENT ASSITANCE.

THINK ABOUT IT, I'M ONLY MAKING GOOD SINCE.

It seems that ingorance runs rampant in this blog. Firstly, I agree that other rap artists should put up or shut up with HAWK's family and when it comes to helping the "hood". Secondly, HAWK was a mildly successful rapper. He did not make millions of dollars. This is not speaking of his talent because he was a good artist. Most individuals from impoverished area do not have life insurance of money saved up.
Most of these rappers do not have any real money or property. It seems that all of the shine has tricked everyone.
Thirdly, people kill people period. Only associating killing with rap is short sighted at best. I will agree that alot of todays radio rap contains alot of violence. But people fail to remember that "the man, lol" owns the only 4 music corporations in the world and they further perpetuate these stereotypes so people can get on blogs and make misinformed comments without attempting to understand what they are saying.
Lastly, the Screwed Up Click is not comprised of Paul Wall or Mike Jones and they both should help HAWK's family when needed as I am sure that they will.

Big Hawk was a great man and if you new him you would know his children could use a trust fund. He did not have money like the public thinks. R.I.P Big Hawk give to the kids! :) White Chic

Ignorance does run rampant and thank you for the only intelligent and insightful response on this page.

Tea is indeed one ignorant bitch. Jazz, R&B and Country and Western beef? Where's the money in that?

Government assistance is only used by blacks in the ghetto and lets not forget the guy who's only making since?!? You may have good sense, but you need to go catch up with it.

Honestly, if you continue to stereo type everyone be sure to include yourselfs in the dumb ass bloggers category.

Where's the respect? As we say in the hood, "He was good people". We're talking about someone who was reletively new to the crap, I mean rap game. You don't make any money just because you drop a record. The system makes theirs first and if you stay around long enough you might get some. He was reppin Fat Pat and his time was cut short.

    Hasn't their family suffered enough?

Oh, and Tea is still one dumb bitch.
