BATON ROUGEAN LISA WOODRUFF WHITE RUNS FOR FAMILY COURT JUDGE!

TRACY WHITE: SHE'S COMMITTED TO MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE COMMUNITY!

The Insite got a call from good friend Tracy White over the weekend. He told me his sister-in-law Lisa Woodruff White was hitting the campaign trail for Family Court Judge in Baton Rouge. White is a Baton Rouge attorney. Tracy says she is dedicated to making a difference in the community. The Insite is also a friend of Mrs. White's husband Marty who's also a Baton Rouge attorney and Tracy's brother. That's six degrees of separation from The Insite. So here's more about the lady who's hoping to sit on the bench and make a difference in Louisiana. There's also a fundraiser in the near future I will provide you more details. Mrs. White's resume is so long I will provide you a link below:

Attorney

  • Attorney and advocate with more than 17 years of experience in handling primarily family law cases.

Legal Scholar and Author

  • Chair of the Child Support Committee of the Louisiana State Law Institute; recently recommended and received approval from the full Council of the Law Institute on policy changes to distribute child support more equitably to all families in multiple and second-family cases. This represents a significant and positive change in the philosophy in Louisiana and treats all children more equally.
  • Authored a 1999 review of Louisiana Child Support Guidelines for the Louisiana Legislature that led to significant positive changes in Louisiana’s child-support laws, including a method to deal with child support in joint and shared custody cases and the increase of the guidelines to include income levels up to $20,000.
  • Chaired the Louisiana Child Support Guidelines Review committee in 1999 and 2004. Initiated statewide public hearings and statewide surveys of judges, family law section lawyers, parents, and the general public on issues related to child-support guidelines. The improvements and methods initiated are being used in the 2008 review of the guidelines and set the bar for future reviews.
  • Developed and advanced legislation focused on improving outcomes for children and families, including legislation to update child-support guidelines; establish a shared custody worksheet; establish a method to calculate child support in joint custody cases; provide a credit for visitation, provide a defense to modification in certain cases; calculate child support in second and multiple family cases; better manage arrears; and improve expense-sharing provisions.
