Houstonians know him for his television ads promoting his hand clinic.
But today Michael Brown of the Brown Hand Center is facing charges he assaulted his wife.
Brown turned himself in this morning.
In 2002 he was convicted of assaulting his first wife who was pregnant at the time.
He lost his medical license 4 years ago after testing positive for cocaine.
But the Brown Center remains open with other doctors.
He is free on $40,000 bail.
