The Restroom assigned to suspects at HPD |
Toilet paper in the sinks, broken paper towel dispenser, and trash left behind! |
No toilet seats |
Broken camode |
That's the complaint the Insite has been getting from some cops at the Houston Police Department. But they're not complaining about the restrooms they use but those that are used by suspects who are arrested for driving while intoxicated.
That restroom in question is located in the old HPD headquarters at 61 Riesner near the edge of downtown.
The officers were so concerned they sent The Insite several photos of the restroom captured on their cell phones.
This comes as the Houston Police Department jail still remains under the watchful eye of the US Justice Department.
Officers say even though someone has been charged with a crime it doesn't mean they should be forced to use a restroom that's deplorable, nasty, and too stank for HPD!
Note: After the Insite brought these photos to the attention of HPD - a spokesperson says the repairs are now underway. John Cannon says the Captain of the Traffic Division has contacted Building Services and as soon as the repairs are done he will try and get some updated photos to the Insite of the repairs in the suspects restroom!
