The new nightclub that used to be a funeral home - Roak!

 

It's a pub too!

It's probably one of the most creative ideas I've seen in a long when it comes to a nightclub in Houston.

Andy Aweida and his business partner came up with the idea to turn an old funeral home into a nightclub and pub.

That funeral home was located at the edge of River Oaks on Kirby at Shepherd.

Once the doors shut on that aspect of the business it was opened again by Aweida.

He converted the facility into a swanky Houston nightclub called Roak.

That's not all.  At the other end of the building they've also opened a bar called Hendrick's pub that's open for lunch during the day.

The Insite made a stop there Thursday night for a special event thrown by Red Bull.

When I walked into Roak I was shocked to see a full size pool in the middle of the club.

It left me feeling a bit creepy it was once a funeral home but once you see it for yourself you say that is really cool.
