NEW WEAPON AGAINST COPPER THIEVES: A DOG IN EVERY YARD!

This northeast Harris County neighborhood filled with dogs !

At first I was irritated then I became intrigued by all the barking dogs I stumbled upon in a northeast Harris County neighborhood.

The moment I made a move toward a house the dog alarm went off.  One after another.

These dogs, some very small, were vicious.  But why?

Why did every yard in this mainly manufactured home community have at least one dog?

It was a question I put to the owner of a property where there were at least five dogs.

The woman told me it was because of all of the copper thefts in the area.

Then all of a sudden it made sense.

These dogs barked uncontrollably if you come anywhere near their territory.

That would make perfect sense for an area that's had problems with copper thieves.

There was one pint sized dog that was particularly vicious.  I had to protect my ankles from him at all costs.

I feel sorry for the copper thief who runs into that rascal on a dark night!
