BARACK OBAMA MANIA TAKES OVER HOUSTON!

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WANTED TO SEE THE SENATOR WHO COULD BECOME PRESIDENT!

It was like nothing that I'd ever seen before. Thousands of people in line to see a politician speak. It was the Houston rally for Presidential candidate Barack Obama. It was more like a Hannah Montana concert with the number of people who showed up for the event. Estimates are 20,000 people crammed into the Toyota Center. I wonder if the Rockets every did that. After a healthy wait - supporters took to their feet as the man of the hour entered the stage with little to no introduction. Obama hit several of the issues he hopes to address if he becomes President. He says he wants to tackle health care, Iraq, education, predatory lending, and the loss of jobs to NAFTA. Obama said it is time for change. He says currently Washington, D.C. is a place where good ideas go to die. He hit several of his campaign slogans such as 'Change' and 'Yes We Can.' He also encouraged Houstonians to go out to the polls and vote early. Obama will spend lots of time in Texas as we move closer to the big primary. Did you go and what do you remember from the candidate?

  1. Great Commentary Isiah!!
Its nice to see people get unified behind the charismatic presidential candidate.

What I find so troubling is the amount of negative press I hear on talk radio about no substance yet, these same radio host do not offer listener anything that maybe perhaps Mc Cain is going to offer.

If you compare apples to apples, People seem to be clearly more energized by a Barack or Hillary campaign rather than old washington establishment Mc Cain.

Got to Give props to Michael Berry on his show yesterday for correcting his comments about Mrs Obama controversal statements.

It was discovered that her speech was edited that made her sound like she hated America. I only which more Talk show host own up to the truth. The public is so much more smarter than that.

    Great rally yesterday,

Wasn't it amazing to see a full stadium of people involved in a Presidential primary. Just a few years ago this would of been unthinkable. Critics can say what they want but this message of "Change" is infectious. For myself and so many people to believe in our government and being involved in this great process of Democracy is special. No critic and cynic can take that away from the Obama campaign and its supporters. This is a great moment of progress in our country.

Voting for Barack Obama has become almost 'trendy', and that concerns me greatly. Most people I talk to aren't asking questions or even thinking things out. I wonder how many in that Toyota Center even know who Kim Jung Il is? Or have wondered about the peculiar actions of Vladamir Putin of Russia over the past year? Or have asked what Obama's thoughts on China's aggressive moves into Africa?

I actually like Obama and agree with most things he has to say but our next President should be a giant killer and Obama has not really been given the opportunity to prove he is, not even by the media as a whole. He's been using buzz words and coasting on JFK's former speech writer to get folks votes and that doesn't sit well with me. He should have to work for my vote. That was the whole point of Tavis Smiley's words about and to Obama ( for which he is now catching hell for).

People, think for yourselves. At this point it doesn't really matter if you vote for him, but make sure the antics of the Clinton's haven't been done by Obama....but they have. Make sure he hasn't taken money from lobbyists like the Clintons....he has. Make sure he hasn't used race in his campaign like the Clintons.....he has. And make sure Obama doesn't twist the words of Hillary like Hillary has twisted his words......and he has done that as well.

    Think for yourselves.

Any suggestions"Think for yourselves" At this point it's worth trying something new. Remember people if you want better choices you must start on the local level. Change begins at home. Yes we are all excited about Obama, but I wonder how many supporters are familiar with the candidates in their precinct. Make wise choices now and continue to vote on the local and state level and the change Mr Obama speaks of will continue to flow. He can't do it alone!! And TJ girl......
    Smooches~

  5. Well, if voting for Obama is trendy then what is voting for Mc Cain is asking for more dead and mangled US soldiers to come home from Iraq and voting for Hillary is a vote for promising everything under the sun that as a Senator she has yet to deliver.

Talk show host quick disconnect when I call because as an informed voter they don't real truths about all the candidates to be put on the air so they feel neutralized.

Bottom line 300 million people in this country are not going to be sitting around a computer screen, reading newspaers, or doing extensive reasearch folks got job to goto and kids to raise.

Ronald Reagan once said. "Are you better off now than your were 4 years ago. Thats the question most Americans are going to ask themselves when its time to vote.

Do you mean "wish"? "More Smarter"? Somehow I don't think this Obama supporter sees him as MOST BESTEST choice for his stance on education.
