The Insite has been keeping tabs on former FOX 26 meteorologist Cecilia Sinclair. It was several months ago when I promised to give readers a look at her first major project since leaving television. Now is that time. It's an educational aid that will help you and your children at home. Cecilia has more in this brief description:

Hey Isiah -

Well at long last, we are releasing Volume 1 of the Let's Learn Spanish with Frank & Paco DVD series for children. Volumes 2 and 3 will be available soon.

As many of the wonderful views of FOX 26 know, I joined the ranks of entrepreneurs so that I could be on my daughter Sarah's schedule. Don't worry, I am still connected in the meteorological community as a board member of The Weather Museum here in Houston and on committees of the National Weather Association.

I am a huge advocate of encouraging our kids to pursue careers in math and science. Believe it or not, learning a second language has been shown to help children score higher in math and science. Also, children who learn a second language have improved cognitive development and function. They also experience an improvement in how they learn their primary language. It has to do with how the sub-conscious processes information.

Volume 1 teaches vocabulary about home and family, eating and drinking, and play. Some basic verbs and pronouns are introduced. This project was created with a team of experts: 2 bilingual educators and 1 linguist.
