JUST BECAUSE HE SAYS A MONKEY ON A T-SHIRT LOOKS LIKE A BLACK MAN DOESN'T MEAN HE'S RACIST!

BAR OWNER: "We're not living in the '40's. Look at him . . . the hairline, the ears — he looks just like Curious George."

The owner of Mulligan's Bar and Grill in Georgia has caused quite a stir, leading to protesters outside of his establishment because he has been selling T-shirts that depicts cartoon chimp Curious George peeling a banana, with "Obama in '08" underneath.
The owner of the Georgia Tavern insists that the shirts weren't meant to offend and has described them as "cute," but protesters disagreed, saying that it is a racist slam against Barack Obama.

Several people as well as community groups held protests outside of Mulligan's Bar and Grill on Tuesday. Those groups included, Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the Nation Of Islam, and the Cobb Immigrant Alliance.

Norman, who has been described as "ultra conservative" answers his critics with even more controversial statements, such as, "We're not living in the '40's. Look at him . . . the hairline, the ears — he looks just like Curious George."

Approximately a dozen protesters stood outside his tavern on Tuesday, one of which was Marietta native Pam Lindley, who joined the protest after reading about the controversy online and she says, "I don't want people to think this is what Marietta is all about. This is what some people think the South is still like. Marietta's come a long way but I guess it's still got a little ways to go."

Defenders of Norman assert Mulligan's is a refuge and Gene McKinley who is one of Mulligan's patrons says, "This place is a diamond in the rough. People here are genuine and honest. It's the one place I can go without having to worry if I'm offending someone."

Despite the protests, since this has now gotten national attention and media coverage, Norman says he has been fielding calls since the story broke with one man in New Jersey asking him to send him 100 T-shirts.

He said he noted physical similarities between the Democratic frontrunner and the cartoon monkey while watching a Curious George movie with his grandchildren.

Actually, he kind of does look like Curious George. And, if I remember correctly, he is a private business owner and can express his OPINION any way in which he cares to, the black militant movement goon squads notwithstanding. And of course, all the race-baiters never miss a chance to condemn evil whitey.....

Anonymous just proved white folk are in ultimate denial. They play dumb when it suits them. A noose around a black man's neck isn't racism to the idiot above. It's a new form of a neck tie. That's why we as blacks have a right to blow every redneck off the face of the earth. But first we'll start with a very civil boycott. Blow that hunky away. I say do it now!

White people are unbelievable. Our level of ignorance never seems to amaze me. Why do we do and say shit like this?

Yeah, its OK to say George W Bush looks like a chimp, but say that about Obama and you are a racist.

If people want equality and equal treatment, then treat everyone eles equally. Golden rule?

I'm teaching my son that people are people. Skin color or race have nothing to do with the kind of person someone can be. Treat people as you would like to be treated. Is that too hard? Sheesh.

To the first commenter, If you stand so strongly behind what you believe in, then why are you anonymous? Why not use your real name, address and where you work. You hide behind anonymity because you know that you are a racist and you would never want your neighbors, your boss, and even you "black friends" to know what you truly are. You are a coward. To people like you, being a racist is okay, but is not okay to call someone a racist.

Ahahahaha. AHAHAHAHA! It's so TRUE! He DOES look like Curious George! I never saw it till it was mentioned, but now it is clear as day...Also folks, remembr, it cant possitively be racist, because Obama is JUST AS MUCH A WHITE MAN AS HE IS A BLACK MAN! In fact, more so white because his black dad did what black dad's do and ran off, leaving momma (his WHITE momma, no less) to raise him.

When I first read about the T-shirt, I thought about how people routinely call George Bush "the chimp" or "chimpy".

Just because people call George W. Bush a chimp does not mean that its okay for anyone to demean Barack Obama. I don't agree with the President, but I wouldn't dare disrespect him to his face or behind his back because I am not that type of person. Being offensive is being offensive. Period.

It would be interesting to know whether this business owner ignored intial complaints regarding his T-shirts and decided to continue selling them out of spite. Just because its not offensive to him, does not mean that it is not offensive to other people. Should he stop selling the shirts? It would depend on what he feels is more important a) offending people or b) exercising his right to say whatever he wants.

Lastly, I wonder when the publisher of Curious George will sue the guy for copyright infringement.

You People are sooooo ignorant and to think that you had a head start on black people in this country. If there is nothing wrong with your views then use YOUR REAL NAME. I bet many of you are so bitter that you have a black boss and successful black coworkers. You are so mad that your black neighbor just bought a car that is more expensive than your car and their house is much bigger and than your house and that they are happy and you are a miserable racist. Pick yourself up by your boot straps and get an education because you all are IGNORANT. You are really going to be mad when we have a black president!!!!

Dont you mean a half-black president? Or is he half white? Oh fiddlesticks, "you people" need a savior so badly. Your succesfull "heroes" are half black and half white, and half black and half phillipino. And the "successful" black folk that you speak of got that way by learning to talk proper english, GETTING AN EDUCATION, assimilating to a white man's business world, wearing a suit and not baggy jeans down to his knees showing off his ass crack, and not trying so hard to slip in a suedo gang sign into every photo. Regardless, Obama IS a dead ringer for Curious George.

So Now "You People" acknowledge that he is half white. Two weeks ago he and everyone who passed by his church on the street were racist black militants. Once again more evidence of your ignorance.

    Who are you.

    Love Always,

    Nicole

By the way, "us people" (black people) do not need a savior in Obama. We already have one. He died on the cross approximately two thousand years ago. He has kept me and has taken care of me and has allowed me to prosper during this Bush administration. His name is Jesus. You should get to know him. He will not use all of this hate mongering you have done against you either. If you already know him, then you should be ashamed of yourself.

The guy should be horse whipped for insulting Curious George by the comparison.

I'd compare Obama to Karl Marx, except Obama doesn't have a beard.

I am tired of those who make it sound that one is a racist if they fail to use all the politically correct rhetoric.

What happened to freedom of speech?

Why are white suspects charged with hate crimes and no blacks are, regardless of the savage nature of the crime?

(HUGE eye roll)...I have allways called him half white, or half black. I have nevr looked at him and thaught "First black president" or firast black anything, for that matter, as he is not black. Or if he is, then he is white, so here we go with another white man for president. It's a matter of glass half full, glass half empty. PatatOe or patOto. I could give a rat's ass wht he is, save for the fac that he is NOT good for America....

I did not write this, nor do I know who did, but it is another of those little truths that get lost in all the hootn' and hollerin' and oh lordy's and race voting...

    This is titled, "The Difference"

John Mcain, Hilary CLinton and Barak Obama were walking down a Washington DC street when they came across a homeless man.

John Mcain gave the man his business card and told him to come by his office for a job. Then he took $20 out of his pocket and gave it to the man.

Hillary was very impressed, so when they came along to another homeless person, she decided to help. She walked over and gave hime directions to the welfare office. She then reached into John Mcain's pocket and took out $20. She kept $15 for the administrative fees and gave the homeless man $5.

When they came across another homeless person, Barack told him to "Have hope...Change is coming" and gave hime nothing. Now do you understand the difference?

And for the record, Obama clearly looks like Curious George. Same head, same hair line, and same ears.

And I DO love you Nicole! Utopians are good job security for those of us sheep dogs that have to take care of all the little sheep...
