It was back in August when a little kid went to the front of his church in Houston and asked the congregation to pray for his coach. That man is the Aldine High School Football Coach Lionell Crawford.
As you may remember Crawford was shot in what was initially reported as a carjacking...but then the story changed.
More details started to emerge. It was later revealed that Crawford was actually shot near the Scottish Inn Motel on Rankin Road.
Now, there are more revealing details obtained exclusively by the Insite.
Public court records indicate the 40 year old Crawford was actually in a motel room with a female identified as 26 year old Latangia Monique Grigsby.
Those documents posted online by the Harris County Clerk's Office indicate Grigsby met Crawford once before.
Investigators say the two in question were waiting on a second female to arrive.
Crawford, who was carrying a weapon at the time, (he has a conceal permit) was told by Grigsby to give her his gun.
According to court document Grigsby said she wanted to scare her female friend who was suppose to meet them in the motel room.
Minutes later when the door bell rang Grigsby opened it and didn't act frightened at all. That's when a male wearing a mask and carrying a gun walked in.
That suspect according to the report then told Crawford, "fold your shit nigger."
Investigators say Crawford said he believed he was being robbed and got into a struggle with the masked gunman.
Crawford was eventually shot in the abdomen according to the report.
Grigsby then left the motel room with the masked man according to Harris County detectives.
After the confrontation investigators say in Grigsby's rush to leave the scene of the crime she dropped her Boost Mobile phone.
The female was later picked out of a line up by Crawford, arrested, and charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
Crawford survived the gun attack and Grigsby made her first court appearance on Thursday.
Sources tell the Insite she has quite a defense for this case but only time will tell if it will work in court!
Note: The Insite is checking to determine if the masked man has been found as of yet!
Wow...that was nothing like it was initially reported! I am so shocked right now!!!
