The Insite has learned the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has begun an investigation into what happened to Roderick Butler.
It was last month when I first reported the 45 year old claimed his managers at a local company refused to call 911 for him when he was having a heart attack. That happened on a job site in Fort bend County.
That company claims Butler never asked that 911 be called. A spokesperson also says they provided him a ride to the hospital when he didn't want to go.
It's a charge Butler and his wife refuted when Butler was able to talk.
Now, the Insite has learned Butler has since had a stroke. That's on top of the heart attack a few weeks ago.
His wife says he's unable to move, talk, or remember what happened to him that day back in August.
Chandra Butler also tells the Insite OSHA is now investigating the Houston company that allegedly failed to call 911. Roderick claimed his managers didn't want to call the ambulance because they didn't want the major contractor for the Fort Bend County project to be slapped with the bill.
Mrs. Butler also tells the Insite one of her husbands supervisors has since called. That worker claims he was told by the company that Butler works for to change his story. That story: Butler never asked his managers to call 911 to get him to a hospital.
The Insite had a chance to hear that message and that supervisor does admit he was told to change his story.
This all comes as OSHA investigates the incident. We're told the federal safety agency was at the Houston based company just this week.
In the meantime, Roderick Butler remains in the hospital fighting for his life.
I will keep you updated!
This is a statement from Chandra Butler Friday morning:
"So much going on but I am trusting in God and we will get through this. We have retained an attorney, Roderick should be released from hospital Sept 22. He is paralyzed and will require 24 hr care. I am not sure what we will do because I have to keep working to support our family. Keep praying for us. I am so grateful to you."
Kind of typical in America, money comes before a person's life.
ReplyDeleteI do hope and pray that this man gets better, miracles DO happen.
I pray that it all works out for the good of the Butlers.
