A woman has been charged in the murder of her husband after deputies say they found his body pinned beneath her car hours before he died.
April Holmes, 29, has been charged in the death of 29-year-old Donald Wesley Holmes and the Harris County District Attorney's Office has accepted the murder charge.
Deputies were on their way toward another call in progress when they observed a white Pontiac Bonneville stopped in the middle of Balarama Drive in southwest Houston.
After investigating further, deputies discovered Donald Holmes' body beneath the car with a woman behind the steering wheel. A wrecker crew had to remove the vehicle so that medical personnel could attend to him.
Donald Holmes was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Harris County Sheriff's Office homicide investigators arrived to the 13000 block of Balarama Drive and learned that Donald and April Holmes were having marital problems. Witnesses told investigators that the couple had an argument and physical fight earlier Monday.
Investigators say April Holmes struck Donald Holmes with the car as he was walking along Balarama Drive. Witnesses told investigators that April Holmes intentionally rolled the car several times over Donald Holmes.
Sgt. Curtis Brown with the Sheriff's Office homicide division said the couple lived in separate homes.
Well, that's a shame that she killed him, but the story sounds like one of domestic abuse and she had reached the end of her rope.
ReplyDeleteSometimes, you're better off just leaving than becoming a murderer.
I guess we live and learn.
