EFFORTS ARE UNDERWAY TO ADDRESS THE CONCERNS AT APPOL!

UPDATE: IF THEY PAY THEIR DUES THEY COULD STAY FOR A FULL MEETING!

The Insite had a chance to speak with a representative for the African American Police Officers' League on Wednesday.  He says while there are some internal issues with the organization there has been no theft.  That insider did say there are some questions as to why money was spent on certain things but there is no one stealing from the organization.  That person also says the group is now making efforts to hold elections for new leadership and board members.  Something he says hasn't been done in years.  That insider who happens to be a Houston police officer also addressed the retired police officers who were ejected from the general meeting on Tuesday. He says those officers are not paying members and when it was time for AAPOL business they were told to leave because they were not active.  He says if they pay their dues and remain in good standing eventually they could remain in full AAPOL meetings.  The Insite will keep you updated on the issue!

I WONDER WHO THIS INSIDER IS? I KNOW THAT HE DOES NOT SOUND LIKE HE IS PART OF THE CURRENT BOARD BECAUSE I AM A RETIRED MEMBER AND I HAVE BEEN COMING TO THOSE MEETINGS FOR YEARS AND NOBODY EVER TOLD ME I HAD TO PAY A DIME. THE INSIDER SAID NO ONE HAS STOLEN ANY MONEY. HOW IN THE HELL WOULD YOU TAKE THE WORD OF AN OFFICIAL OF AN ORGANIZATION THAT HAS NOT HAD AN ELECTION IN 13 YEARS. THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN HONEST WITH THE MEMBERSHIP ABOUT WHAT CONTRACTS THEY HAVE ENTERED INTO WHO THEY ARE PAYING MEMBERS MONEY TO, HOW MUCH AND HOW LONG. THE INSIDER HAS ALOT TO SAY ABOUT WHY THOSE RETIRED OFFICERS WERE REMOVED, WELL I AND OTHER RETIREES HAVE TAKEN PART IN UNION BUSINESS AND VOTES AND IT IS IN THE BYLAWS THAT RETIRES ARE LIFETIME MEMBERS. SO WHOEVER THE INSIDER IS HE IS LYING THROUGH HIS TEETH. NOW BECAUSE THESE RETIRED OFFICERS ASKED FOR THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS FROM THE BOARD AT THAT LAST MEETING. I BELIEVE THAT IS WHY THEY WERE REFUSED ENTRY. I DONT BELIEVE YOU CAN CHANGE BYLAWS WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP IN ORDER THAT THEY CAN VOTE ON THOSE CHANGES. I WONDER IF THE INSIDER HAD AN ACTIVE HAND IN CHANGING THE AAPOL WEBSITE WHERE YOU HAVE QUALIFICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP NOW. THE PROBLEM FOR THAT BOARD AND THOSE THAT MADE THOSE DECISIONS IS SIMPLY THAT THERE ARE FEDERAL LAWS THAT SUPERCEDE AAPOLS SHADE TREE WAY OF MAKING RULES. THERE ARE FEDERAL LAWS AGAINST DENYING MEMBERS ENTRY TO MEETINGS OR FORCING MEMBERS TO LEAVE MEETINGS. THERE ARE ALSO FEDRAL LAWS THAT INVOLVE MISAPPLICATION OR MISUSE OF FUNDS. MOST PEOPLE REFER TO THAT AS STEALING BUT THOSE ARE WORDS A LAWYER WOULD USE. IS AAPOLS HOUSE IN ORDER. IS AAPOLS BUSINEES STRAIGHT WITH THE IRS. COULD THEY STAND A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION BY THE NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD? These are all pressing issues that will probably be on the table. I would say if aapol has nothing to hide release all of the financial information to all of the members including all contracts entered into and the length and duration that money was paid to companies and individuals. finally I will say this I know one of those sergeants pretty well and that does not bode well for aapol. I can gaurantee that this aint over. I hope for the insider and aapols sake they have their shit together.
