It was likely a surprise to the listeners of 97.9 The Box Thursday morning. A familiar voice with that identifiable Texas drawl was on the air. It was former Houston Mayor Bill White. He was guest on the morning show hosted by Madd Hatta and the crew. White, who is in a very tough battle for Governor of Texas with incumbent Rick Perry, apparently was reaching out to part of the Democratic base...African Americas. While the Insite didn't get to hear the entire interview I did listen to a few of White's talking points. He stressed an emphasis on education while also promising to turn a lot of attention to the Texas border. White also says he would take adavantage of local law enforcement to help address the issue of border crossings and violence. Did you hear the program and what did you think?
