THE NAACP HOUSTON BRANCH FREEDOM FUND BANQUET!

The NAACP Houston Branch Freedom Fund Gala was held this weekend and the Insite was there.  The annual fundraiser took place Friday night at the Hilton of Americas in downtown Houston.  Dozens of people turned out for the event where none other than George Foreman was the keynote speaker.  And no he did not give out grills.  Foreman was just one of the many honorees at the event that paid tribute to doctors and executives in our community who have been committed to equality.  I had the honor of serving as the emcee at the black tie event.  Thanks to Yolanda Smith, Carolyn Scantlebury, Carol Mims Galloway, and a host of others who were on hand and had a role in such a great event.  Here are some of the photos the Insite had a chance to snap in between duties!

2010 NAACP HONOREES:

Dr. Charleta Guillory
Dr. Joe Agris
Mr. Mark Wallace
Mr. Milton Carroll

The event is very meaningful and supports the operations. The branch is accountable to the members. We are on the move and making meaningful change. Look for a new focus coming soon and join us in creating change.
