CBS SPORTS: Edgar Renteria's three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning just about finished off the Texas Rangers. The Rangers' Nelson Cruz answered with a solo shot in the bottom of the seventh but his home run didn't give Texas the momentum it needed and the Rangers lost, 3-1.
The Giants looked like the team who wanted to win the World Series more as they often made the Rangers look as if they were struggling. Tim Lincecum pitched brilliantly for San Francisco. Rangers ace Cliff Lee pitchd solidly until giving up the three-run home run to Renteria. Brian Wilson closed the game for the Giants and picked up his sixth save for the postseason.
With the Giants ahead 3-1 in the Series and trying to wrap up their first title since moving to San Francisco, Lincecum and Lee didn't allow any runners past first base through the first six innings.
Lincecum gave up two hits, struck out six and walked one in a matchup of Cy Young Award winners, and he threw 49 of 68 pitches for strikes. Lee allowed three hits, struck out five and walked none, throwing 55 of 75 pitches for strikes.
