It was not a good year for the Southern University Jaguars.  Not only did the football club have a losing season the team lost its annual rivalry to Grambling State University Saturday night.  GSU defeated SU 38 to 17 during a nationally televised sparing session on NBC.

The lost by Southern and its new coach Stump Mitchell places the team last in the SWAC standings and one of the worst records (2-9) in recent memory.

And then there was that fan enthusiasm.  Only about 43,000 people attended the event that can draw more than 70,000 on a good year in the New Orleans Superdome.  Photos of the crowd show many top rows at the dome completely empty.

Meanwhile, The Insite was in the thick of things as many Southern supporters celebrated despite the teams loss from the suites in the Superdome.  Some of the people attending were: Tony Clayton, Paula Clayton, Donald Dobbins, Shane Zander, Marty White, Rose Roche, and a host of others!
