Mayor Annise Parker found herself abruptly walking out of her own press conference at City Hall this afternoon. That came after reporters questioned Parker about rumors she and some other council members are trying to create a majority Gay council district in Houston. Rumors have run wild after Conservative Councilman Mike Sullivan was removed from a position that would oversee redistricting in the city. Parker, when repeatedly asked about the alleged Gay district said, "I'm out of here...this is not what this press conference is about." One reporter responded by saying this was the Mayor's only availability for the day. The press briefing at City Hall was actually called to address a national award the Houston Police Department received for addressing mental issues.
Note: As a result of a major population increase the city of Houston is slated for redistricting in 2011. The move would create two new council districts!
Good for her, but sad for the officer who was to be recognized.
ReplyDeleteI remember when she was running for office and it was suspected that she had a "gay" agenda. Looks like that is coming to fruition. Maybe there will be a new mayor next election.
ReplyDeleteShe is a one term Mayor. She is trying so hard to push that sick lifestyle on us. We dont want it Nessie. You and your two ton lover can go to San Fran sicko and live.
