THE 40 WEEK LONG FIGHT TO GET A INDEPENDENT CIVILIAN REVIEW BOARD!

I have to give it to a small group of people who are committed to sending a message and getting what they want.  Each week this group takes to the front of the Harris County Criminal Justice building and protest.  They say they want an Independent Civilian Review Board to oversee the Houston Police Department.  One of their protest signs reads stop police terrorism.

Members of the group are also collecting signatures to try force a public vote on the issue.  One of the organizers say they've been protesting for 40 weeks now.  That's got to be some type of record for a local protest.  That's tops Occupy Houston folk.  While Mayor Annise Parker has set up a panel to address police issues this group wants civilians to have the ability to subpoena records on any officer or investigation.  No word if any city or county leaders are taking notice on week #40!
