THERE'S ANOTHER FISH FRY AT PURE LIGHT BAPTIST CHURCH THIS FRIDAY!

By now I'm sure you've heard the plight of a Fifth Ward church's congregation.

It was two weeks ago when FOX 26 first reported members of Pure Light Baptist filed a lawsuit to try and save their church.

In those court papers church leaders say their previous pastor sold their building right from under them.

Members say their church constitution requires the pastor to get the permission of the congregation and trustees.

They say none of that was done.

Court records show the church was sold for $125,000 to a Florida based company.

Those who attend Pure Light filed a lawsuit and now they're trying to raise money to pay their attorneys.

That means they've turned to fundraising.

Their second fish fry will be Friday December 23 beginning at 11 a.m.

Rev. Anthony Moten, the newly hired church leader, says they will sale fish plates, wash cars, and hold a festival Saturday to try and come up with the money.

If you're interested in helping make sure you stop by Pure Light to buy a fish plate to help save the church.  The address is listed below!

  1. How can this sale even have gone through? Was the former Pastor on the title of this property Was ge the sole owner? I can not eveb sell my house without my spouce's signature! I think the Realtor®, Broker and buyer should all be sued for treble damages. There is something very fishy here.
