ENRON'S SKILLING WAS ON THE STAND TALKING ABOUT WAYNE'S WORLD!!!

DID JEFF SKILLING GET HIS START IN WAYNE'S WORLD!!!

Former Enron CEO Jeffrey Skilling finally took the witness stand Monday morning. He lasted just under five hours under direct exam from his attorney Daniel Petrocelli. Skilling talked about how he was heart broken when thousands of Enron employees were laid off. He also remembered how the federal agents who arrested him held him at bay in the federal courthouse so he could run into another former Enron executive who was already imprisoned. Skilling says he didn't feel like it was a coincidence that he and Ben Glissan both ended up handcuffed and shackled in the same elevator. Skilling said he told his former co-worker "How's it going Ben?" Glissan who had already entered a guilty plea replied according to Skilling "Not so good, how about you?" Skilling also talked about how he operated an entire television station at the age of 14 back in 1967. He says it was channel 60 in Aurora, Il. Skilling says he learned to operate each piece of equipment as the upstart was preparing to open in the 60's. He says it's the same station Wayne's World is based on. Skilling also recounted the closing of the tv station was the first bankruptcy he went through. Skilling is on trial for conspiracy and fraud. He is expected to be on the stand here in Houston all week.

  5. So, based on a news report I heard on the radio, Jeff Skilling testified that he "wasn't smart enough" to have perpetrated the fraudulent behaviors at Enron of which he is accused.

And yet, he also claims he was so smart that he ran his own TV station at the age of 14.

Pick one, Skilling. Either your an incompetent genius or a blustering idiot. Either way, under your "leadership", a company was run into the group and thousands of people cumulatively lost billions of dollars. If that isn't a crime, it should be.

I'm not sure your comment about Tom Skilling not attending his brother's trial is correct. I flew home to Chicago from Houston this Thursday evening and Tom Skilling sat a couple seats way from me on a Continental flight between IAH and ORD.

The subject of the Enron trial never came up out of politeness, most conversation was weather related, but I think its safe to presume that his presence in Houston was not coincidental with his brother's trial.
