The Houston Texans have released offensive tackle Ephraim Salaam and linebacker David Nixon.
The Texans also did not make any deals prior to the NFL trading deadline of 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Salaam's roster spot is expected to be filled by offensive tackle Duane Brown who returned this week from a 4-game suspension for violating the NFL's policy on performance enhancing substances.
Nixon's departure could mean the Texans plan to add a linebacker to their injury-riiddled group.
