IT'S TIME TO RUN OUT AND GET YOUR FREE TURKEY FROM BORRIS MILES!

For the seventh consecutive year, State Representative Borris L. Miles in collaboration with TexStars Foundation and Our Legends Givings will distribute turkeys to underserved families throughout District 146.

Representative Miles and community volunteers will meet Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Sunnyside Park located at 3502 Bellfort Street at 1:00 pm to organize for the annual turkey give-a-way.  Representative Miles recognizes that many of our families in need have little or no transportation, thus the give-away will begin at Sunnyside Park and travel to various locations throughout the district.  As the "Son of Sunnyside" and a lifelong member of District 146,

Representative Miles has his pulse on the needs throughout the district and works hard to secure public-private partnerships and community volunteerism to serve the neighborhoods he serves.

"When we work together as a community, we all rise," says Miles.

Families in need are encouraged to come to Sunnyside Park to receive a turkey for their family.  The need in the community is greater than ever, and the goal of the event is to assist as many families as possible, thus we will only distribute one turkey per household.

"I am extremely grateful to Constable May Walker for providing constables to ensure our volunteers are safe," states Miles.  "I want to thank all the people who have worked with me over the past seven years to brighten the holidays for District 146 families.  I know that together we have made a difference."
