PROTESTERS GATHER OUTSIDE OF HARRIS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT!

Just as the Insite reported Monday dozens of current and former angry Harris County workers were protesting in downtown Houston Tuesday morning.

Those workers which include deputies, civilians, and retirees say they've had enough of the broken promises by the Harris County Commissioners Court.

The protesters showed up this morning as county commissioners are expected to take up the issue of benefits for county workers.

Those workers fear their benefits package could be slashed as a result of continued budget constraints by the county government.

This comes just months after county commissioners approved a plan that increased the monthly health insurance premiums for retirees.

The Insite will keep you updated on the latest developments!

  1. This is tragic for those who have already retired and will unable to afford this. There was a lot of talk of 115 dollars but that is for the bare basic coverage for the employee and doesn't include their spouse. The cost is going to be high. A basic manner I was taught while growing up was to respect your elders. A life lessen that should be remembered by Commissioners Court.
